WORLD FOOD UKRAINE — 2007

The 10-th Anniversary International Forum for producers and distributors of food, drinks, ingredients and supermarket equipment WORLD FOOD UKRAINE — 2007 took place on October 30 — November 2 at the International Exhibition Center (Kyiv, Brovarsky ave., 15).

WORLD FOOD UKRAINE forum — is a significant event carried out at food production market. It reflects peculiarities of modern and tendencies of future development of food and drinks Ukrainian and international market- more than 200 international companies from 35 countries participated in the forum in 2007. One could see the national expositions from China, Estonia (this national stand was awarded «the best national group stand»), Germany, India, Latvia, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Sri-Lanka Thailand and Turkey. The importance of this exhibition event is approved by the fact that it is actively supported by representatives of bodies of state power, embassies of participating countries, officers from high educational establishments, specialists of food production industry, representatives of small and big businesses. Among honourable guests who participated at the official opening ceremony were: Leonid Kozachenko, President of the Ukrainian Agricultural Confederation, Petro Kishakov, the Economic Adviser of Moldova Embassy in Ukraine, Ton Verkhagen, the Adviser of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine and Alexander Perov, the Director of Premier Expo. All of them noted the dynamic growth of the exposition — over the last 2 years it has shown 10% growth — and underlined the topicality of holding the exhibition in Ukraine.

A scientific and practical program «Modern Food Industry — a Healthy Nation» was held in the IEC in the framework of WORLD FOOD UKRAINE 2007. More than 70 specialists in food production industry took part in the seminar. Among them one could see representatives of Ukrainian food and drinks' producers, representatives of national institutes and food quality security services, mass media Questions under discussion covered such topics as: creation and production peculiarities of health drinks on drinking and mineral water basis, food production security systems and their role in public health protection, etc. Moderator of the Conference Ludmila Stoyanova, Head of Food Technologies Chair in Odessa Institute of second high educational establishment NUFT, pointed to «good effectiveness achieved by high quality of speakers and active participation of the audience».

On October 24 — 30, 2007 4 tasting contests took place in the framework of the International Forum WORLD FOOD UKRAINE: World Meat Ukraine — meat products, World Spiritus Ukraine — liqueur and vodka drinks, World Aqua Ukraine — medicinal and table water, World Canned Vegetables & Fruit Ukraine — canned products. In general the contests featured more than 87 samples of 25 native companies: Olimp-Konsalt, Soyuz-Viktan, Natsionalna Horilchana Compania, (TM Khlebnyy Dar, Tselsiy Light, Tselsiy Original, Tselsiy Classic), Polyessye, Hame, Myasnoy Dvor, GPS, Grin Rey, Univer etc.

Vladimir Popov, Head of the National Association of meat and meat products of Ukraine «Ukrmyaso» and Head of the Tasting Committee acknowledged «the important role that the contest plays in introducing new products to the market by helping to gauge competition levels and promoting further quality improvements».

This year exhibition has become a starting point or a market launch for some producing companies, e.g. TM Premier's Tea (ТH «Khors») representing elite Indian tea of premium quality. Stand of this company has been awarded for «the Best Nominate of 2007». Turkish company Baclavaci Gulluoglu Gida Sanayi Ve Dis Ticaret As was awarded for «the Best International Stand», while Agama Trade - «the Best Stand Design».
